Background
Dragon Quest Wars is a turn-based strategy game, developed by Intelligent Systems, for the Nintendo DSi. DQW is a DSiWare title, meaning it must be purchased from the Nintendo DSiWare Shop channel, and can only be played on the Nintendo DSi. The game was released in Japan on June 24, 2009, in North America on September 28, 2009, and in the PAL regions on October 8 2009.
Dragon Quest Wars is avaiable for download now, for only 500 DSi points.
Gameplay
Dragon Quest Wars is the first strategy game to bear the Dragon Quest name, and plays out differently from the rest of the series. Up to four players can battle it out against each other by commanding up to four monster units across a gridded plane. Like many other strategy games, the flow of battle is slow and requires some pre-planning. Players will be forced to think ahead if they want to defeat their opponents, as each individual units has its strengths and weaknesses.
Dragon Quest Wars supports up to four player multiplayer, both local and online, and features six unique monster units: Slimes, Hammerhood, Dracky, Golem, Chimera, and Healslime.
